Renault Group is a historic mobility brand and pioneer of electric vehicles in Europe. The brand has always developed innovative vehicles. With the 'Renaulution' strategic plan, Renault has embarked on an ambitious, value-generating transformation towards a competitive, balanced and electrified product offering. The four brands Renault, Alpine, Mobilize and Dacia form the pillars. The ambition is to embody modernity and innovation in technology, but also in energy and mobility services in the automotive industry and beyond.
Sustainable design and production
Recycling plays an important role in providing more sustainable mobility. Renault Group’s ambition is to bring recycling into a new era and become the European leader in the automotive circular economy. The company aims to have at least 33% of the materials used recycled by 2030. The new Renault Scenic E-Tech electric is paving the way, with up to 24% of its mass coming from recycling streams. At the end of its life, 90% of the car – including the battery – is recyclable.
A second life for batteries
Renault Group is the first car manufacturer to work on the complete battery life cycle. Solid expertise has been developed in extending the lifespan and reusing batteries. If the battery capacity drops below the level required for the car, it is given a second life. The battery can then still be used in stationary storage systems for homes or office buildings or for mobile systems, such as vessels, refrigeration units and machines.
On the road to carbon neutrality
Renault Group on its way to becoming a next-generation company, focused on creating economic value as well as environmental and social value. That is why the company aims to operate carbon neutral in the three ElectriCity factories by 2025, in all factories in Europe by 2030 and in all factories worldwide by 2050. But the ambition doesn't stop there: Renault Group aims for complete carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040 and globally by 2050.
